clicking noise, need help
so i have just picked up a 95' miata M edition, with about 110,xxx miles on it and i'm hearing a clicking noise or ping in the engine, it sounds very similar to a bent valve but it comes and goes so i ruled out the bent valve bacause a valve would make a noise 100% of the time if im thinking correctly. the sound is however directly matched with the rpm's wherever they may it doesn't really matter it's still clicking, definitely sounds like it's coming from the head but anybody have any ideas?
and before you kill me for the whole "noobs must search!" i did and this is a thread with a very similar problem and im guessing this clicking is my HLA's and im just hearing horrible lifter noise but i wasn't sure and was hoping someone could add some information on the clicking/HLA/noise issue or confirm that it's this. https://www.miataturbo.net/showthrea...clicking+noise |
Check/change your oil.
It's your HLAs. Good on you for searching. Bad on you for finding the answer and not doing anything about it. In "Search n00b!" we trust. |
