clutch + 6psi = slippage

got the mbc on tonite, finally, and reclaimed some of those precious spoolup rpms, but then experienced what a good solid clutch slip feels like.

two steps forward, one step back...

Bum deal.
What clutch are you going to go with?

i have an ACT XT on my kitchen floor. was just hoping to be able to get by without it until spring. spent long enough not driving this car. i'm gonna see if my buddy's shop can install it early next week, and then do a LOT of easy driving shortly thereafter for breakin... 500 miles in a weekend? no sweat...

backing out of the driveway break-in, even better.

lol. i was just having a discussion with a buddy about this. how important clutch breakin is with modern materials, etc... his view is similar to yours, brain. he cited a buddy of ours that more or less installed a new clutch in his BBC chevelle, proceeded to rip a couple 5 gear burnouts, and then drove it to detroit...

meanwhile, i have the other camp telling me, "500 miles of city driving and not a mile less"

Braineack 10-18-2007 09:33 AM

if it was kevlar it tell you to do the 500 mile city break-in. since its organic or semi metallic, id give it about ten minutes. I did the same with my ACT HD and never had an issue.
