clutch adjustment

I had an ACT installed. But I do not like the fact, that it now engages right at the floor. How can I adjust it?

My car is slowly coming back together :sadwavey:

there's an adjustment rod on the pedal that can be adjusted for freeplay. it only has so much adjustment, but basically all ACT clutches engage close to the floor.

That sucks I hate the fact I cant rev it up while letting the clutch out:vash:

I have had the ACT since december, It does not seem to grab like it should? I dont know if I have scratched 2nd yet, not that I try, but it should have happend. I got fourth @ 60 with my folks 6 spd (wet) It was cool the car rocked left and right.

Does the ACT have to be broken in?

I was told that the street disc really didn't need to be broken in by the clutch guys I bought it from...he said make sure EVERYTHING was clean, and that all I needed to do was drive it easy for a day or so...then I could give it hell.

I haven't tried this yet, but I think I'll take it easy for a couple of days just to be on the safe side.

After resolving my clutch/trans/bellhousing/clutch fork set up with the swap, I realized that there is some adjustability in the length of the slave rod. You can usually lengthen the rod by another 1/8" which does raise the engagement at the pedal. The rod from a late 80s B2000 is significantly longer and can be cut down to remove the tolerance. Make sure the clutch slave is properly bled prior to measuring tolerance. - rob

funny this should be mentioned, i had to adjust mine last night as it had wiggled loose and engaging way too high.

When I installed my ACT, it did the same thing. The contact point was at the floor. I adjusted the peddle all the way up and installed a spacer on the clutch arm at the slave piston. Several months later, the peddle has come up, and I have removed the spacer. It seems that the more I drive it, the better it gets. I am going to have to re-adjust the peddle back down a little now.

My ACT HD engaged really close to the floor at first too, even after I adjusted the pedal. After about 800 miles, it feels like it's almost back at the stock height.
