Clutch switch bypass/jumper
Someone asked me how this was done so I figured I'll post it here in case someone else is interested. (This is so you can start the car without pushing in the clutch.)
under your dash above the fuse box find the plug that looks like this: http://www.miatamx5.com/clutchswitch...h_bypass_1.jpg unplug it make a jumper like this with 2 male spade connectors and a 2-3" piece of wire: http://www.miatamx5.com/clutchswitch...h_bypass_2.jpg plug it into the end with the female spade connectors like this: http://www.miatamx5.com/clutchswitch...h_bypass_3.jpg |
I use a penny and electrical tape. :gay:

I cut the wires and twisted them together with a little heat shrink tubing. Pauls method is easily reversible though.

You don't enjoy things being simple to install? There is a difference between cutting 2 wires going to a switch that could be the lead cause of throw-out bearing failure and cutting vital ECU wires. The clutch switch wires are much larger gauge than ecu wires as well. The smaller ecu wires appear to have around 8 strands per wire, they're fragile and easily damaged.
That being said, i like things being removable in short periods of time when needed. When i first installed megasquirt i cut every necessary wire in my stock ECU harness, when you have to lay on your back with your arms stuck up in your dash you tend to figure something out that is easier to deal with. It now takes less than 5 minutes to remove MS from my car. It would take 10 min to repair the clutch switch wiring, though i have no idea why I would ever want to. |
whoa, chill.
someone didn't get any turkey... |
lol, i got my share man, it was good as hell to. I made some corn pudding for everybody and it was awesome. Trying to make some room for some pie here in the next half hour.

jesus, you ate already? we going to mom's at 4 and that is early for her. usually it ends up being 6-7pm

It's weird. My g/fs family showed up at like 11. I was in the shower and both her grandpa's walk in the bathroom and take a leak. We started eating at 12:30. I guess they like to make a all day affair out of it.

You put the gauge into the inter external boost placement pipe, removing the alterrain outside drain planter, forcing the holes to fit the gauge into place taking all lugnuts out and engenering them back in. Then you place the placement pipe over into the engins referberator, making it go an extra 15 psi.

You can't do that until you replace the canooter valve on the rotating manifold. Duh!
|
wow you guys are high dollar i took a bunch of wire strands twisted them together inserted them and painted them with liquid insulator stuff. kinda like liquid electrical tape :p

I'm a dumbass and actually bought the FM piece of bent metal for $10. I can honestly say that nothing I've ever bought from them was worth it, either for the price or the product.
|
my bowser heatshield for the greddy kit was the only thing i ever bought from them. i can't complain about the product, except that it was too expensive for a couple of bent pieces of metal.

^^I thought my $104 front sway bar from Flyin' Miata was a good price, and my HDHCHT roll bar shipped for free was cool!
