Honestly dont know why the compression would be lower.. I would assume it would be to lower power output for longer life out of the AT.. But thats an un-educated guess lol. Its looking like that AT spare engine is identical to my current.. Ill check the cam casting numbers between the two this weekend, just out of curiosity to see if the cams are different like on the B6 engines.

Sorry, it seems I have gotten the wrong idea across lol. To clarify more:
I have a 1.8L in currently, the Miata is of course MT. I also have a 1.8L spare engine out of a AT 94 Miata, they are both BPs, I didnt mean to swap a AT B6 in, I was just trying to figure out if my spare BP which came out of a AT Miata had different cams or pistions. DropTopDrifter, I do want to eventually get a 99 head, just not quite yet. I still have no EMS or forged goodies haha. |
