Coolant Temp Sensor Plug Replacement
Anyone know where I can get the replacement plug for the temp sensor on the back of the head. Obviously Rosenthal but was trying to get it today or tomorrow at Autozone or O Reillys but have been having a tough time searching for it. Im running ms and I brok the connector and as some of you know with out a coolant temp reading the car will not run properly. Any help always appreciated.

Yeah that would work I guess just get two small female connectors and try to shove them in there and heat shrink over it |
Potentiometer wired into MS, allows you to have an in-cockpit mixture control...
|
That would be great but this isnt a typical failure point of the car the sensors last for a very long time. My plug just broke and the wires are sliding out causing the signal to short. It would be a great fail safe though. Did you ever do this? Do you have install docs to reference?

you know what, I was thinking of the dash temp sensor, not the actual coolant sensor.

When I get outta work Im gonna run to the junkyard and see if I cant just cut the pigtail off the harness. This usually pisses them off but fuck it the rip off people right and left on shit parts as it is.

the connector your need is probably in the witch hunt thread, fwiw.

Props found the part number now just to find a store thats not 5+weeks out from having it
|
No, I was just joking... Although in theory it should work...
I would probably ghetto it and solder two wires to those pins, fill with epoxy, and then new bullet connectors on the end to connect back to harness. Or, see if you can find one in the junkyard if you have the time. |
Just for future reference part number is 184006-1. For anyone else that may be looking for it and not refer to the witch hunt thread.

So there isnt a Mazda dealer near me but the Toyota part number is 90980-11062 and was able to order it through toyota for 8 bucks and it will be here tomorrow at 9

ouch. you probably could have gotten it for like $5 from Ballenger, all ready to have new wires crimped on, no solder required.

In a way im glad the car went to running like shit cause if the MS didnt use water temp to reference for fuel. I would have kept driving down the road and probably overheated cause the fans would have never turned on. None the less its fixed |
