DIY Miata hood vents?
Before I go hacking on the hood to relieve the pressure underneath, does anyone have some pictures of Miata hoods that have had this done?
It will be the typical gutter guard material painted graphite, with the metal trim and bolts being painted the same color (same thing I did the air intake hole in the hood from the FMII intake)
I'm hoping this will help keep temps down in the summer, and will also help with it getting squirrelly/light on the top end.

Thanks guys. Through a PM from a fellow swap member, I think a Carbontrix hood vent might be the solution after seeing the thread Levnubbin posted. Apparently, "extraction hood" brings up a better idea of what I was after.
Hoping the hood will come out about like this. The bump in the vent should intensify the venturi effect, helping to pull the air out of the radiator.

Some say a .38 is perfect for releiving that underhood pressure, but in my experience a .45 is nice for the headroom it allows. You get a lot more flow through each hole. If you want a splashier look, a shotgun loaded with slugs will work. I think its a bit ricey though.

Some say a .38 is perfect for releiving that underhood pressure, but in my experience a .45 is nice for the headroom it allows. You get a lot more flow through each hole. If you want a splashier look, a shotgun loaded with slugs will work. I think its a bit ricey though.

Second best would be same place but closer together or just behind the radiator. Someone else likely has that pic bookmarked or it might be in one or more of these threads.

Once I get a quote from RHarris, mine will be on within the next week, but the first start won't be for another few weeks

Is that louver/vent metal? Right now I am using a pontiac gtp vent/louver and its plastic so I am a bit worried about the heat (Not that I couldn't put some reflective material and or make a metal shield to mount under it). Also what are the dimensions on that sucker?
