Crankbolt won't move!

I have done few timing belts before, but this one this crank bolt just won't move even with the tranny in 5th gear. All it does is, it would get to a point and just turns the rear wheels with the e-brake up. Anybody got a LNC bolt holding tool to let me borrow? Maybe I should go pick up a PB blast and soak it over night.

A quick jolt of 750ft-lbs might get it off. Then you would have to drive it back home... it could happen

Jason, you don't have a crank bolt holding tool?

harleybutter 07-19-2008 02:22 PM

Never needed one with the impact wrench I have.

Actually I haven't tried the impat wrench on that, but I would have to take the radiator for that to fit.

Have you had someone stand on the brake pedal? I know you have the e-brake up, but I would think that actually standing on the pedal and engaging the piston would make for more resistance.

I will try that right now.

That worked, along with my 10k ft-lbs of torq from my arms. :giggle: thanks.

I put a 4 foot pipe on my breaker bar and have someone turn the key while i hold it. snaps it loose every time.

We use to do that on the Integra. Wedge the wrench handle against the concrete and kick the ignition over... makes everyone run for cover, but it works.

ahh, the starter bump. it works wonders

Starter bump ftw. Makes me cringe but works every time.
