Custom rear speaker install with a few pics
6 Attachment(s)
Ok. so a few nights ago i starting pulling plastics off and carpet back trying to find some place to add a rear speaker i ended up finding the factory has a large but rather odd shape hole that is under the side plastic where the seat belts rolls down in. Any way i trimmed some metal to make a 4in speaker fit and hushmatted it up. Then i cut out some of the plastic panel infront of the hole to mount a grill and cover the back of the grill with fabric. Note the speaker is not right behind the grill the grill is just to let the sound out but it is pretty even with the speaker. At any rate just thought id share if any one else wanted the same thing. P.s i have a aftermarket radio with 4ch 2 of which is powering these speakers.

You taped those in place? lol
|
Its not tap its hushmat sound deadning
|
SO, how do they sound? Can you hear them?
|
I can hear them its not a major change but worth doing because two speakers blow
|
I should add that i already have two loud tweeters close to the sun visor and 2 10in subwoofers on the rear deck. Also its the bose system so it was already pretty full of sound before this

Sorry to bring back a dead thread but I'm curious as to whether these were 6.5" speakers or were they smaller.
I'd assume it wouldn't sound as good as portable 6x9" speakers that people put in box enclosures behind the seats. I like this idea since it'll keep thieves away though! |
