Which data logger and scan tool do I want?

Been looking through some old threads for some information and I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. The car's an 01 with a diy turbo setup, fuel system has been converted to a return style, and it somehow is running great with the factory ECU controlling it all. Today it threw a CEL and I am going to get some sort of scan tool to read the code now instead of later. While searching around on here and on .net I see a lot of talk about data logging. Is there a decent data logger out there that will also read and clear codes? The scangauge 2 seems like it will do most of what I want. What do you guys think and what are you using?

We use the Dyno Scan by Auterra. It views and records over 16 live data parameters, resets codes, and has a street dyno tool. Also makes tuning with the stock ECU much easier.

you might want to look into an elm-327 setup if you've got a laptop you can use.

+1 This is cool software - wayyy better than a handheld tool (other than the fact you need a laptop in the car). They (Bell) used this on my car and found all sorts of interesting things (tells ya how fast you were going when you threw the CEL lol).

Thanks for the info. I ended up just being cheap and went to Autozone to get them to read the code. I'll wait until I decide which engine management I want to go with before I put any money I don't have to into this car.
