these aren't going to make you stop any faster with cold brakes.

It's not a fun experience when they succeed, ask me how I know, I dare you.

I was about to order the Big Brake kit from FM...are the DDMWorks brakes suppose to be better? Just curious.

As in the $1,600 big brake kit? If so I'd rather have the sport brake kit that urbansoot is selling right now. Probably works just as well and at a fraction of the price.

BenR 07-25-2008 04:11 PM

Unnecessary.

A $1500 brake kit on a $2000 car is a funny thought.

Chikara motorsports sells a BBK for under a $1000.

Kit comes with 2 Wilwood Dynalite Calipers, 2 Billet Steel Caliper Adaptors, 2 front SS brake lines, 2 10.6' Mazda Factory Rotors, set of Hawk HPS/Plus pads.
All for $850 plus shipping :jerkit:

my dick could etch out those brackets, the rest can't add up to more than $400

they sell the adapters themselves for $265....
lines $88
kit without rotors is $700. so $347 for the calipers.
that leaves $150 for the two front pads.

KPLAFIN 07-25-2008 04:21 PM

If you just have to have an aftermarket "kit" I'd go with one of the kits that good-win offers. A little cheaper since you're not paying the FM tax of like 15%

Brain, would you rather pay $1600 for a similar BBK? I would much rather have billet steel brackets over billet aluminum holding the calipers on.

You gotta remember, those are the prices of the great white north,we pay alot more for parts than you guys living down south.

madmalc; where and how much?

Thanks

hustler 07-25-2008 05:28 PM

If the calipers were like $300, and pads were cheap, I'd buy them for the lightness.

Splitime 07-25-2008 05:35 PM

So why isn't there a mainstream rx7 caliper swap kit (ie: 2 adapters) yet?

Doppelgänger 07-25-2008 05:42 PM

If i cared to spend the $700, i could do a Porsche based BBK.

Ditto, Ben, I don't have a $2000 car, my MSM cost considerably more. I did notice the FM BBK is all four, not just the front, so that explains some of the cost.
