Diamond Racing Wheels?
 

Ive been thinking of different ways to stuff some big slicks on my car to keep traction under control down the road. Not sure if I want to go as far as cutting and riveting flares on (mainly depends on the rules for SM2). Anyway, was thinking some 15x10 if i go widebody, or 15x8 if i stick with the stockers.

If you click on the links on that page the wheel sizes, weights, and prices are all there. They're for the most part less than ~$80 a piece but from what i can tell they're all heavy as hell. Nearly all weighing in over 17lbs, 19 being more the average for a 15x8.

how much power does you car make, which causes traction issues?

if you find some used ones, they could be cool. but they're actually not that cheap considering how much they weigh. you can get 15x8 sport max wheels for about the same price that are a little lighter and look good enough to drive on the street.

true enough, my problemwith those is the offset though, but if i went for some flares, then i guess i could run the size tire I would ultimately like (thinking 245/15ish slick). The traction issue is not in the straights, and I would be willing to sacrifice a bit of braking and accelleration performance for balls out cornering. When i fix my engine, ill probably be 200hp+ so thats enough to make up for a few pounds.

Ok i just looked again, and the Avenger series wheel is only 18lbs for a 15x10, then matched up with some Hoosier 245/50 R6 tires and flares, i bet that would be a pretty sweet combo ... 6ul wheels would be nice too.

i got a friend with diamond racing wheels, great wheel. i am about to order a set for myself. they seem alot stiffer than the normal steel wheel and alot lighter too. still a little heavy but light for a steel stamped wheel. i was looking into their 13 x 8's though and they are pretty light. of course these wheels wont be street driven but on the road i would get a 15 x 8 with some nice rubber and a wider stance for the street.

imo for the street i would be alot more concerned with weight, that being said its keeping me from steel wheels and looking to get some light 15 x 7's with a 30mm offset alloys. just get some good tires and a good alignment

The only thing you have to watch with the Diamond's is brake caliper clearance. 1.8 brakes will not work with the 13" wheels, not sure if there are any problems with the 15" wheels or not.

Ultimately that's why I went with Rota RB's. That any they are prettier. :)
