Did a compression test and found a leaky radiator

Well, tried to be productive and cleaned up, and out of curiosity I did a compression test today:

Results were (from the radiator back...should be labeling the cylinder #s)

1. 165
2. 170
3. 170
4. 170-175 ish.

Not the best, but it is a 90 w/ 139k miles on it. At least they are close together. :D

And...found a leak right next to the radiator cap, nothing major but def means I need a new radiator. About a 1/8th long tiny crack is forming...so a new radiator very soon.

So...should I just find a cheap radiator or go with an alum. godspeed or w/e and do a coolant reroute and stuff since I'm going to be in there anyway? I don't have a lot to spend, but I want to try to get something decent once boosted that I wont have to completely redo.

I replaced mine with the Mishimoto on group buy...nice rad...there was also a cheaper one posted up that I looked at and it looks just like the Mishimoto one I bought. There was a post of it not long ago-was on ebay.

Do you plan to drive your car really hard? If its primarily a daily driver i wouldn't really recommend an aluminum rad if you can just find a cheep oem one. But if your going to be forking out 150 for a radiator anyways you might as well go big. If you can do a cheap DIY re route then go for it.

Thank you for re-arranging the results, much easier to read.

I have the GodSpeed in mine, it works fine (even w/o a re-route, yet), I only have one 12" Ebay fan on it, AND Jerry from DIYautotune commented during tuning that my car managed heat very well.

PS - AND the rad has a 22x9x3 FMIC blocking its access to fresh air, AND I don't have the undertray on or any shrouding at all...

I've heard some decent things about them...I really need to check that out then.

Where did you buy yours from?

And yes, I beat the ever living piss out of the car, even though it is a DD.

Do those compression number seem decent? I'm pretty sure I've got an exhaust valve or two that hates life.

Well, with both groupbuys failing, I went ahead and picked up another radiator...spent to much, but w/e. Shouldn't have any cooling issues and I needed something fast.
