Does anyone have stiffer MMR diff mounts?

I finished swaping a 3.9 torsen into my 90 with MMR diff mounts, The sound of the diff seams to be alot louder than it should be along with vibrations, its filled and dubble checked the fluid level along with every nut and bolt it just seams very high in vibrations and noise and want to make sure this is a normal thing.
Thanks

according to keith at fm, solid mounts can break the carrier. of course, that is just his opinion. if you are concerned, use the mazdaspeed rubber mounts instead. at their murderous prices.

you have solid mounts, there will be alot of NVH. There is really no getting around it.. just be happy your shifts will be better and you should have less wheel hop..

949racing will soon stock urethane diff bushings.

NVH with solid mounts is pretty much the only reason not to use them that I'm aware of. What did you expect when replacing a soft rubber bushing with a solid piece of plastic?

o have the MMR motor mounts, and i would say thats normal. my car vibrates REALLY bad, but the car just feels a ton better. it would suck for a daily though

What does NVH stand for again?

I'm selling my mmr engine mounts for the rubber ones in fear of them melting.

lots of people complain about them melting from downpipe heat. Do you want to pay $300 for a track day and only run 1 session?

neogenesis2004 12-26-2007 06:50 PM

Only one person said anything about them melting......

thesnowboarder 12-26-2007 08:17 PM

so the high vibrations are normal? And do you guys think that it will break the carrier?

UrbanSoot 12-27-2007 02:48 AM

try driving my car on the street... 2 way diff + azenis + new suspension is not going to make for one smooth ride...

I had the MMRs for two weeks on my DD'd Miata.. traded one of the roadsterdrift guys for his MazdaComps and never looked back.

I can't speak to the diff mounts but they're just as solid so likely same results.

+1 for mazdaspeed harder mounts on the engine. There is more NVH, but it's not bad. Great mod. Now why on earth must the MS diff mounts be so overpriced. thinking about the 949's
