does anyone know a hitman?

because there is a mazda engineer somewhere that needs to be taken out. jk of'course.

i just removed the front bumper for the first time today. seriously? did we really need all of those nuts/bolts?

*i must confess that i actually used my air hammer with a chisel attachment to help with the removal. 3 seized nuts required it.

Men have been killed for less

I can remove mine in like 5 minutes now since I only leave the top bolts and the side nuts on. That deep 10 still pisses me off.

gospeed81 03-20-2010 08:27 PM

Somebody say my name?

We should keep this in PMs

hustler 03-20-2010 08:41 PM

I'm considering attaching my bumper with buckle thingies from Pegasus because I'm sooooo much cooler than you.

Full_Tilt_Boogie 03-20-2010 08:46 PM

Just be like a drifter and tip tie your bumper on, that way you can take it on and off with a pair of wire clippers and a few more zip ties.
All the cool kids are doing it.

(Hustler isnt a cool kid because his goal is lower lap times not getting mad drifto points)

We should definately keep this in PM's cause...well...business is business. I like to drive my car and all, but business is business...know what I'm sayin?

The world record for R&R of the front bumper is 3 minutes 12 seconds. We are the proud holders of said record.

Any challengers?

Corky

turotufas 03-20-2010 10:00 PM

and reinstall... not me. That's quick as hell. Just removal, I could do that.

Well I guess that's why its a record!

thirdgen 03-20-2010 10:02 PM

I'll take that challenge! What's up mr. Bell? So what's on the agenda in your neck of the woods on this fine evening?

Think I could beat that....I've had my bumper on and off so much the past few days I know it like the back of my hand :giggle:

thirdgen 03-20-2010 10:13 PM

Wait, this was removal and reinstallation of front bumper as per corky bell? I can tell you this, that time is impossible, how about me and you ( the real corky bell in person) go head to head in an autocross? Why'd ya say??? Or are you skirtin out...

My friend did that to his '05 STi, including drilling/riveting said brackets to his fender/bumper... Retarded!

Sparetire 03-20-2010 11:03 PM

I can beat that if prep time does not count and I can use linear shape charges and tie downs...and the car does not have to work after.....

You think thats tough? Try reattaching the undertray of a Lancer Evo MR using the factory loser-spec plastic hardware. I went temporarily insane, gave up, and just made hardware myself it was so bad.

ApexOnYou 03-20-2010 11:04 PM

lol they can be a pain if the plastic clips have been taken on and off a bunch of times.
