Does anyone offer a 3in exhaust

Looking for options for a pre-made 3in exhaust for my Miata as I'm having a hard time finding someone local (NY) that I trust with my car for a fair price. All I could find is Flyin Miata but not exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks

ericsbestshot 06-09-2016 03:07 AM

I only sell a full exhaust if you buy my setup. I have zero desire to build exhausts to fit other systems.

"fair" is very subjective

Itty 06-09-2016 11:15 AM

Word. You get what you pay for.

hornetball 06-09-2016 11:55 AM

Recently bought a new system from Enthuza. 2.5" aluminized-pipe turbo system. Fit was fantastic and they now come with Magnaflow mufflers and tips instead of Borla. They seem to be continually improving their product. Based upon how mine fit and the clearances, it seems like their 3" would work well.

I ran a 3" enthuza with my begi s1 and then absurdflow setup for about 5 years. Fitment was decent, it hit the 2 part axles sometimes and then at the ppf with the flange. Worked fine other then those 2 issues.

I absolutely love my artech stuff. It was expensive though and took a long time. But not that it's all in I'm happy. I probably could have saved a bit of money and time here.

But I like it.

I've had older Enthuzas as well, and have experienced occasional hits in that tight axle/diff area you mentioned -- especially on track. But the latest system I bought seems improved in this area. Tracking the car last weekend resulted in absolutely no extraneous noise. It seems like there's been a subtle change there, but I'll be darned if I can see an obvious difference other than the muffler and tip change. Maybe I just took more time installing it this time around. :dunno:

They've also beefed up their hangers (I've broken hangers on the older systems). Anyway, it's nice seeing the improvements.

I'm willing to spend $1,000-$1,200 or so.

ryansmoneypit 06-09-2016 10:39 PM

ARtech. No question.

psyber_0ptix 06-10-2016 08:41 AM

Artech

dr_boone 06-10-2016 08:48 AM

+1 Artech Looks great and fitment is perfect. sound with the big magnaflow is nice.

psyber_0ptix 06-10-2016 02:18 PM

Yeatjust don't use urethane hangers because it transmits the vibration unto the cabin like crazy.

18psi 06-10-2016 02:44 PM

hmm, I was looking at catted, and for NB. but yeah

redsox 06-10-2016 03:15 PM

I'll have to keep looking locally because the off the shelf exhaust's aren't really what I'm looking for. Probably going to purchase a Vibrant resonator and Burns muffler and have something fabbed.

You're dumb, think before you ask next time.

ryansmoneypit 06-10-2016 05:41 PM

Hahaha, doesn't want an off the shelf ARtech. Want Vibrant.
It is clear, you don't know. ARTech is an nice as it gets. All hand, made to order...

psyber_0ptix 06-10-2016 06:22 PM

It's art

redsox 06-10-2016 06:45 PM

I'm dumb because I asked if there was any companies out there I may not been aware of? I looked into ARTech, I wasn't really a fan of the work. Don't get me wrong for the price you can't beat it but I'm looking for something a little nicer.

You're dumb because you're dumb. Get over it.

You never said a word about your year Miata.

You never said a word about a K-swap.

We naturally assumed you were talking about a turbocharged Miata since that is the usual application for a 3" exhaust.

I'm sorry we tried to help. Really.

BTW, wrapping an exhaust header so that it can possibly corrode/crack but can't be inspected is commonly done, but isn't exactly the pinnacle of quality.

redsox 06-10-2016 06:51 PM

Great logic there bud. Thanks for the help guys

psyber_0ptix 06-10-2016 07:11 PM

Good luck

turbofan 06-10-2016 09:41 PM

You keep saying it's not what you're looking for. Do tell, what are these mystical qualifications you seek?

ryansmoneypit 06-10-2016 10:45 PM

What exactly isn't fancy about his work? What are you looking for? Do you want one of those exhaust systems made from 1,000 wedge cuts, and 2000 welds, that actually flow like poo poo? All of his is 304, back purged, and V band.
Please, show us an example of the extraordinary exhaust you yern for.

1 piece from header to muffler. Made of unicorn horn that is mandrel bend with rainbow vbands would be nice.
