does the miata twist a lot with torque?
 

i was tuning some tonight and when i got on the highway hard in second and third my top opened on the left side only. very strange. latch still in the closed position. my top hasn't been opened in weeks, maybe even a month. anyone have this happen?

It sounds very m.netish, but you might try tightening the latches a bit, that shouldn't happen. That or possibly it wasn't locked fully, even for a full month. They do twist quite a bit, I specifically can hear the seal along the top of the windshield frame going up onto a driveway crooked.

m.net would be asking if the chassis torqued with 95 ftlbs of torque. though really never had a problem before. maybe it wasn't fully latched but i've been 100+ mph several times and never even heard wind noise. the latch was still in the closed position but on the other side of the windshield header catch, like propped open an inch on one side. had to pull off the highway and pull it like hell to get it off and pinched the hell out of my fingers while doing so
