Ebay susp set-up? how good?

Well I really need to upgrade my susp. cause it's pretty bad. I was wondering what yall think about getting like some used kyb's or picking up some off of ebay and then running just like a ground control kit from ebay. Yall think that that set-up would be good for decent handling? Here is the control kit i was looking at.

and here are the kyb's

So what do yall think?

That's pretty similar to my setup. It handles better than my 90k mile stock shocks/spring did, but most say it's worth the extra money to go with more expensive setups (Tein etc.).

There's a little more info here:

tein can suck my balls. Those set ups aren't bad. Since its not a short bodied shock, it doesn't matter if you just set the threaded perch, atop the standard perch. However, your shit will be skyjacked. You can also flare the perch, weld it on lower, and none of this matters.

Your not good enough for Tein to suck your balls. Becides my turbo shit, my Tein Flex's were the best thing I have ever bought for my car.

ak47bravo one of my friends jsut put on the ebay coilovers and the KYB shocks and even with the coilovers as low as they go he said it is about stock ride height. If you want to go with the ebay coilovers move to Koni's that have the 3 perches for the springs. They let you get even lower.

Thanks for the input guys. Shuiend how much of a increase in handling performance was there with your friends car?

shuiend 02-25-2007 02:26 PM

I will ask him next time I talk to him online. I do have a friend with them with konis and they are amazing. He autocrosses nationaly with them.

+1 for Tein, got the basics and they are great

ak47bravo 02-25-2007 05:19 PM

how much is a tein basic? I saw a set on miata.net going for like 675. Only thing is I don't have much money and couldn't afford one of the nicer systems. Just need a little set-up that is pretty decent over stock for cheap until I can get a real good system.

agxs shocks and tein springs or eibach springs.

this miata has agxs and eibach springs, had a picture of agxs with teins on my other computer.the teins sit a little higher.

Those are the factory seats on the 95M. Only year of them. Obviously no head rest speakers, if that matters to you.

If the spring rate is good then those kits will work fine. I highly suggest you don't skimp on shocks though. I'm thinking of ditching my Flex's for revalved Bilsteins. I'll try taller tires first though to see if I can get back some ride compliance.

Good idea. Bilsteins will last much longer. I know a guy who has advance technique on one car, and tein HA's on the other, and really liked my set up. The ride is a bit rougher than the HA's, but i thought it felt a bit easier to control. I also hear Tein employees do NOT buy dolphin free tuna and support female circumcision in Africa.

What do yall think about these?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOKIC...QQcmdZViewItem

or

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BILST...QQcmdZViewItem
then just match these with some ebay springs until I could get some nice springs.

I'd go with the bilsteins because they are easier to rebuild, and most motorcycle shops will do it. The Koni's are probably just as good, but Bilstein parts are the standard for rebuildable suspension.

TurboMiatKid 03-17-2007 11:48 AM

I liked my KYB Shocks

PaKMaN 03-17-2007 06:25 PM

here i'll run down and take a pic. I'm running the FM Stage 1.5 kit (Flyin miata springs, AGX 8 way shocks, FM pillow mounts) on stock daisys.
