Engine Build need help

Ok so I am planning on my engine build, but had a few questions which I thought all the experts would know the answers to. This is going to be 1.6 engine.

1. First, is there a difference in engines weather its out of an automatic or manul car? If so which one is better for building if building it to handle boost?

2. Does it even matter which engines I pick out since I will be changing the internals and pulling the stock pistons and rods for performance parts?

3. I plan on redoing the head to all new parts including bigger valves. I will be spending more money on the head job to flow better, but should I stick with the stock 1.6 head or is a newer head say from a 94, or even 99 model head a better choice?

4. I have seen pistons and rods listed here for sale many times so might pick up some part here from the forum, but does anyone know of the which parts are better than other, benefits or downsides to one compare to another?

I know some of these questions are really vague, but any insite into this matter will help. I am doing some reading on it but thought before I go spending money on crap I would get some opininos from the Pros.

if you were talking about a 1.8 head in #3, it won't fit, cylinder spacing is different.

I think you are going to want to start with a long nose crank engine. They started that in late '91 i'm pretty sure.. just go over to m.net and search for long nose or short nose crank. you should find a shit ton of info on it.
