Engine help!!

Yesterday, I noticed a strange sound coming from the engine. I turn the car and I heard a clacking sound much like the HLA noise but way louder. I opened the hood and I saw the spark plug wire in #2 had come off which is really odd. I plugged the wire back in and the noise decreased a bit. Usually I hear the HLA when is time to change the oil, once the oil is changed the noise disappear. However Ive never seen the spark plug wire come off. Today when I pulled in I took a look at again. When I press the spark plug wire down the noise mostly disappears but I feel air being push through.

What the hell is going on?? please help

Thanks

EDIT: the only thing I did different I use 10w30 full synthetic the last time I did the oil change. I have always used convensional oil and didnt have any issues.

Pulses of air?

Yeah I push the wire down, the noise decreases, and I feel air being pushed through. Im seriously freaking out. Just when I finally pieced everything together to go turbo there's a possibility that my engine took a shit. :vash:

Not that I remember. I replaced the spark plugs not too long ago.

Well Im stil a noob. In the morning I checked the spark plug, after tighting #2 the noise stoped. However, how common is for the spark plugs to unscrew?? and how did it pushed the wire out?? Anywho, no big deal I guess. I was really paranoid. Go ahead and flame me

Yeah but with your luck, if anything were to happen you would probably find a replacement for pennies.

Escaping pressure from the cylinder probably popped it off. Common for spark plugs to unscrew? Not unless you're torquing them down with your butthole :giggle:

well most of the time after newbs over torque them the threads fail, this can happen rather dramatically in some cases and even while you are driving. Do some searching on m.net about it in the NA section and you will see many threads on it. Alluminum heads ftw.

An Internal Combustion Engine is an air-pump.
The combusted gas will exit through the path of least resistance. 99.9% it's the exhaust, but if your spark plug is loose, then it's through there.

Thanks guys guess I over reacted; I seriously thought something was fucked, and even started looking for a transplant. I gotz to getz me a better torque wrench. :noob: FTF:facepalm:
