engine reinstall help needed (electrical)
 
All right where should I start, o I know.
1 st took the engine out for some maintenance ( clutch, redo the turbo return....)
2 nd put it back in its place connected everyting and she wont start this is where my life went sour
checked and rechecked my checking of wires 3 times and still nothing. I got fuel, spark not so much. o I forgot it is a 01 with EMU and cops. thought it was the cops at first so i hooked up the factory back and still nothing the car was running normally before engine pull now it cranks and no spark. checked the voltage and got good voltage on the power wire ground seams fine but the trigger is reading way too high in my opinion one wire 10.7v and other 7.4v which heats up my coils like crazy. than the fuze blows. what triggers the coils to fire on the 01. could there be a connector or something . any help with this matter would be appreciated. thanks

The brown / white and black / yel wires are the triggers from the ECU. Black is ground, and black / white is +12 from the "engine" fuse. Is that the fuse that it blowing, or is it the INJ fuse?

it is the engine fuse that blows as soon as i turn ignition on the fuse blows when cops are installed when stock coils are in they are heating up like crazy must be something electrical. can it be the crank sensor

The ECU should be outputting 0v when the key is on but the engine is not running. Did you take this measurement with the coils disconnected from the ECU? IOW, isolate the two, and find out whether the ECU is outputting a constant trigger, or the coils have somehow failed and are leaking voltage back out their inputs.

You might also disconnect the ECU itself and re-measure, to see if something like a pinched or abraded wire is causing voltage to leak into the trigger wires.

This suggests that the coils are indeed operating continuously on their primaries. If they haven't already been killed, further operation in this condition will likely destroy them. Disconnect the coils until this is figured out.

Doubtful. Even if the crank sensor were damaged, the ECU should not be outputting a constant drive on the ignition trigger pins. It should simply fail to detect RPM and throw a code.



edit: I just noticed that you have an EMU. Have you tried removing it from the equation?

with the emu removed, the output on the trigger is normal, but car still won't start due to the 460cc injectors.
we have concluded that it is the emu unfortunately
we are now going to pick up another emu and give it a try to determine if that is definitely it

i will disconnect the ECU which will eliminate the EMU as well and do the measurements again. Joe if you have the wiring diagram for the car in question please let me know if i can use it. you know I owe you one already appreciate the help the clutch is in and i can't drive the damn car

just did bunch of testing and seams the EMU is messing with me when I disconnect the Ignition plug from the EMU the voltmeter reads 52.0 mV and the other is trigger is 32.0 mV.

did some more testing and figured the fault is coming from the EMU which is producing 2.3 volts from the ignition output connector. With the EMU disconnected the voltage drops, only reason it won't start in my opinion is due to the 460cc injectors. Not sure why the EMU is producing the voltage output during ignition on and not even starting.
