Enthuza 3" clearance
Does anyone use a 3" enthuza on a 1.6L with the stock rear-end. I don't feel like working on the car for a while. So I'm hoping it will fit.
Jason said it would probably hit the 1.6 diff, but I'm crossing fingers. I guess if it does, I'll swap in the 1.8L rearend. But I would prefer to sell the 1.8L motor, rearend, tranny, and my FM3 manifold and external wastegate downpipe. It would be nice to pay the couch off. So there it is, anyone not have clearance issues with the 1.6l diff and 3" enthuza? And anyone want a package deal on a 1.8L motor, tranny, rearend, external wastegate manifold and downpipe, locally? Might trade for a fixer upper miata. |
Wait, you have a 1.8 diff but it is not in the car?
Um...swap that shit. |
pm johnwag...that gay always has some fucked up shit like that for a trade. He's at Skip Barber for the next few days though.

Mine used to get tapped by the nubs on the inner axles under load, but doesn't anymore, I just let it clearance itself.. :giggle:
This is with a torsen rear too. |
I really want a turbo in my daily driver.
|
My daily right now has heater issues.
Nothing is wronge with the heater. I think the cable just came loose. I talked to Wag yesterday. They will be gone for 12 days. Lucky guys. |
I have 2 different 3" exhausts that I can switch in on my 92 with a 1.8L rear end and don't have a problem with either rubbing. Everything i have bought from Jason fit perfectly, so i think you will be happy.
|
Oh, I should note that I have 3" on my 1.6 with the 1.8 torsen and no rubbing at all. However, my sisters 2.5" enthuza rubs on her msm.
|
Hey I have the 3" and the type I 1.8 (with the nubs) and it fits nicely and it clearanced it's self at some point (small dint in pipes near nubs).
|
I don't see where there would be a clearance issue with the stock rear. The 1.8L rear is larger, with large flanges on the stubshafts and axles.
I have plently of room with the 1.8L rear. http://boostedmiata.com/exhaust/resonator_clamped.jpg FYI: u-clamps pointed down are not smart on a low car on unpaved roads..... |

I have an Enthusa 3" with a 1.6 diff and so far have had no problems. After talking to Jason, I opened the rear slip joint by about 1/2", so far I have had no problems.
It sounds great. |
I should put a little more detail, I have a TurboTony 3" downpipe, Enthusa 3" system with there 3" resonator all under a Flyin Miata Butterfly Brace. I did not think it would all fit but so far it's perfect. And the support and service from Jason at Enthusa is A+++++

yeah, I think you've lost your squirrel-drive-over clearance there.
unpaved road man-hole cover clearance is significantly lowered. |
