Fan and O2 sensor for drive home?

I'm getting ready to pick up my new/old Miata this weekend, and I'll have a three hour drive home in Alabama summertime. The car is apparently missing an O2 sensor and has a faulty radiator cooling fan (it has no AC).
Should I be worried about overheating issues for a three-hour drive on an Interstate?
If so, how hard would it be to swap out the fan? This is my first Miata, so I'm not too familiar with them, but it sounds like the fan is held on by a couple of bolts on a 1.8?

If you drive below 35 mph in hot weather you may overheat.
Quick fix for a missing O2 sensor is to screw in an old spark plug.

If you get stuck in traffic, you'll overheat, but if you're just cruising at 70mph, you'll be fine. Keep a close eye on the temp gauge and if it starts to move, pull over, shut down, and give it a minute to cool down. Shouldn't be a big deal.

fan is easy to swap out, 4 bolts, however the intake crap is in the way. no real biggie.
jumping TFA and GND might just do the trick.
