Are fancy boost controllers like this one worth the extra $$$?
Title says it all, looking at this boost controller that brags about all kinds of fancy shit.

that is mbc EBC is the fancy one MBC is simple and effective check the faq for info on making your own for 5-10$ i bought my voodoo mbc fir 10 bucks it works

if its a real turbonetics probally worth it.
ive used the greddy(i think) one like it.looks just like it but polished aluminum. it clicks every half turn,so it cant unwind,d buy it for 40,they used to be around 150. |

Regulators that you can get at hardware stores and the like. It always pissed me off that GReddy and Turbonetics sold them as if they where anything other than that. Take a look at the regulator at a Craftman air compressor at Sears and you will see the same boost controller.

MBCs like that are acutally Relief Valves....search online venders for them and you can save $20....this site only seems to be stocking the 1/4" 5-150psi type....personally I'd look for a 1/8" 5-30psi. but you get the idea. for the ultimate MBC you'd use a relief valve to set boost pressure, then a pressure regulator to ensure no boost spike and that the wastegate stays closed as long as absouletly possible, read his: http://autospeed.drive.com.au/cms/A_...popularArticle |

he includes a lot of information about how you can blow your motor up - but I just keep turning up the boost and the car just keeps getting quicker :gay:
