bondorific!!!

Rafa 02-06-2008 04:40 PM

Me too but it's still too early to tell how well it will come out; still, you have to handed it to the Autonexion guys for coming up with new stuff for miatas.

Braineack 02-06-2008 04:51 PM

it's looking pretty good, but i fear the final product is going to look odd. but for a TT car, should be butterz.

btw, finally an address 16601, anyone know what street that is on :) lots o' parts in the garage.

that7guy 02-06-2008 04:57 PM

Yea, thats a nice NSX in the garage!

Splitime 02-06-2008 05:01 PM

Man I hope the final product ends up with the same quality (at least seen from the photos) as his other products. I'm excited... I want it...

neogenesis2004 02-06-2008 05:05 PM

I've loved the idea of that thing since day one. I only wish he would just make it a full replacement top. I bet he could make the whole thing and sell it for the same price people pay for the stock one.

Mach929 02-06-2008 05:25 PM

i like it, i'd want one that the back half opened up hatchback style and was attatched to the trunk lid so you could actually use your trunk or access whe battery

evidently he's designing it so that the trunk is still usable.

samnavy 02-06-2008 05:47 PM

944'ish... Rx7'ish...
It's either going to be hideous... or look so good I'd give a nut for one.

krayzrac3r 02-06-2008 06:01 PM

i think its hot I want it!!

SloS13 02-06-2008 06:07 PM

is that ALL bondo? If so, it'll crack. Fiberglass underneath, right?

Gimme your NSX

patsmx5 02-06-2008 06:15 PM

Looks good. If they sold a kit like that for my 99 I'd probably buy it. That looks mean.

I think the bondo is only for sculpting purposes until the final mold is made from FG

soflarick 02-06-2008 06:28 PM

Adds a ton of weight but the aero would be really good.

Zabac 02-06-2008 06:49 PM

i can see how you could make one semi-light and a hatchback
"im tellin ya i have ideas in my head" in cramers voice

Efini~FC3S 02-06-2008 06:59 PM

I've been watching the progress on this too. I think it looks good, hopefully it's not too heavy.

dirtyboost 02-06-2008 07:02 PM

cr.net ftw

too bad most of us on CR are too poor to afford a soft top, let alone a hartop lol

Markp 02-06-2008 07:23 PM

Actually, I like it... Something about the rear could be changed but I have always liked the Miata Coupe... I think it'd look cool on my '99.

Mark

Yes, to me it has to do with the width where it meets the back of the car. I find that part too narrow but I do like the concept.

I also agree with neo; he should make a complete hardtop in FG to substitute the original one. For some reason I've never liked my car's hardtop.

Rafa 02-06-2008 07:33 PM

I can see they would face a big issue with the location of the fuel lid but if I were Autonexion I would go all out and find somekind of solution.

Oh rly?

Thats sick.

Arkmage 02-06-2008 08:16 PM

I'd love one... I wish they had mass produced the coupe for the states :(

TurboTim 02-06-2008 09:18 PM

Looks great, but I like top-down driving more.

ie TARGA.

TurboTim 02-07-2008 08:44 AM

Ha yeah there ya go, that'd be different.

m2cupcar 02-07-2008 09:04 AM

Damn that looks like way too much work. I do some first rx7 lines where the top meets the rear quarters. I'd be curious to see just how that trunk becomes functional. It looks to me like the entire thing would need to be removed as a hard top. Otherwise he's going to do some blending in of the deck lid and recutting to match the fastback flat plane. :dunno:

I do like the decklid btw.

mazda/nissan 02-07-2008 09:06 AM

put a hinge on the back of the hard top and chop up the trunk to make work, then it would open up just like a 240

Pitlab77 02-07-2008 07:40 PM

reminds me of the terrible S2k Hardtops

hustler 02-07-2008 08:01 PM

i'd pay a tranny to shit on my chest before I'd look at on my worst enemy's car.

paul 02-07-2008 08:09 PM

the stock trunklid is removed and the fastback includes a new lid. that should help keep weight down as you remove the heavy steel trunk lid and hinges etc.

Exqueeze me? I don't speak engrish.

Newbsauce 02-07-2008 08:24 PM

Judging by the fact that his trunk replacement cost like 400 in the non carbon version shipped to the east coat... I'd hate to see what this will run.

TurboTim 02-08-2008 10:31 AM

I think it'd be louder inside the car.
