what headlight covers are those and do they work?

Mimime 07-12-2007 06:17 AM

www.zoom-eng.com

I think they work better then all other highlight lids duct, that's if you like the appearance of it. Some might say it distort the lines on the front abit.

steelrat 07-12-2007 09:14 AM

Nice.... I remember when my BRG paint looked that good.... ah well.... memories. <G>

Dave,

reddroptop 07-12-2007 09:21 AM

Oh wow. That paint is amazing.

tabs604 07-12-2007 10:12 AM

nice...very shiny.

MX_Eva 07-12-2007 10:23 AM

Looks good. I don't think those headlight lids are better than NACA ducts. Frankly you don't really beat that for air intake.

I mean if it didn't work would the ferrari F40 be covered in them? I think it has something like 8 of them..maybe more

Braineack 07-12-2007 10:31 AM

as long as there is less pressure behind them than in front they'll work.

the problem with the design is they adversly affect aerodynamics. Will you ever make even power/speed to ever notice? probably not :gay:

MX_Eva 07-12-2007 10:48 AM

Hey Scott if you ever want to fool around with aerodynamics...particularly underhood pressures versus air dam etc. I picked up a Magnehilic Gauge. I have yet to start using it, mainly because i haven't bought sheet metal to start playing around with an underpan. Anyone know what bolt sizes (besides 10 mm) i need on the underside to attach it, i seem to have lost all of mine.

y8s 07-12-2007 11:01 AM

mmm magnahelic.

99% of the bolts down there are M6. the ones that screw into plastic are smaller.

Braineack 07-12-2007 11:07 AM

yeah i wanna play....ive been dying to redo my undertray and crap.

Rage_Kage 07-12-2007 11:09 AM

ooooh pretty

Mimime 07-12-2007 11:48 AM

Want to share what exact Meguiars products you use and the steps needed?

Mimime 07-14-2007 02:25 AM

ALL Meguiar products used:- I didn't know i have that much stuff until I count them up!

Ext:
- GOLD class car wash
- HOT Wheel cleaner
- All polish paste
- Quick Detailer
- Clay Kit
- X-Scratch
- Deep Crystal Wax Cleaner
- Deep Crystal Polish
- NXT TEch Wax Liquid
- Ultimate Detailer
- Mirco fiber wash mit
- mirco Fiber wipes
- wheel cleaning Brush

Int:
- Gold class leather polish/cleaner creme
- Rubber/vinyle spray
- Trim detailer
- Plastic X

Method:

Always work in SHADE, while the car is cool.

1) Clean your wheels first, I always starts with cleaning my wheel first, than start working from roof down again.

2) Wash with Meguiar GOLD CLASS Car Soap, I used a few other car soap, this produst left the least water marks.

Optiona Step: CLAY kit, if you feel your paints has contaimination on the surface, or minor scratch or swirls are removed with Scratch-X.

3) Meguiar Deep Crystal Wax Cleaner, applied by hand with foam applicator, very easy to remove. Since our cars are traditional paints, you can see abit of colour being cut out with fine scratches and swirl marks.

4) Meguiar Deep Crystal POLISH - apply with foam applicator by hand, and remove immeidately with cloth. This bring a dark wet colour back which conditions the paint like hand CREME.

5) Meguiar NXT TECH WAX - light coat applied with foam applicator by hand. Yet again this products is the easiest wax to remove. Wax serve as a sealent for your paint. Since this is an Synthic Wax, it requires 12 hours to fully cure and polymerise. If you are crazy enough like me, after 12 hours you can reapply the second coat of wax... SHINE x 2!!!!... which gives a more even coat.

6) Polish your Wheels with Meguiar All Metal polisher. Smell great!

7) Interior Black Trim, Black plastics, windsheild wipers and soft top... I used Meguiar TRIM detailer. Brings a rich wet black look and softens trims to seal water away.

Its hard work, but its all worth it! :bigtu:
