hay i just finished installing my evo seats i picked. they weren't too hard to get in but they are a tight fit. i used the stock seat sliders with a bar going across to each slider to make them fit on the wider base of the evo seats about 2 hours for each seats. let me know what you guys and galls think.

p51hellfire 05-04-2009 01:20 AM

They look to be nice seats but the quality of pictures make them look really dirty and stained imo....good job though

1990miata1.6 05-04-2009 01:26 AM

yaa the camera i had at the time sucks ass ill try to get better pics once it stops raining in ct and its nice out which looks to be in 4 days =[

Definitely looks like they'd hold you in place better than the stock seats. Which year/variety of Evo are these from?

1990miata1.6 05-04-2009 01:34 AM

bone there out of an evo 8 base model the mr and se have leather seats

nicacus 05-04-2009 01:49 AM

looks geart!

18psi 05-04-2009 02:18 AM

geart

albumleaf 05-04-2009 02:28 AM

geart indeed.. clean em off and it's awesome!

bayside blue 05-04-2009 02:36 AM

looks geart but no matter what you do thoes seat will never look "clean" in pictures..

when i was evo shopping i noticed all the interior shots with the blue seats looked like they were dirty and i guess its the fabric shine or something its reflecting some of the black...i dont remember but someone told me the reason on evom.

naarleven 05-04-2009 02:59 AM

Ah these look geart. I need to see if I pick some of these up, I'm sure they're dime a dozen and I like that they're recliners.

1990miata1.6 05-04-2009 03:02 AM

i picked them up off a kid for 400 bucks and im glad you guys like how they came out

BradC 05-04-2009 08:34 AM

How do they sit, height-wise, versus stock?

Is your head higher in the car, and if so, by how much?

tyson87 05-04-2009 10:24 AM

what rc car is that?

1990miata1.6 05-04-2009 12:02 PM

i got a tamiya tt01, spent way too much money on it, brushless motor, carbon chassis, spektrum remote/receiver.
what a waste of money, im afraid to drive it ever since i put the carbon chassis on it, i dont want to scratch it up.

1990miata1.6 05-04-2009 01:21 PM

yup i spent a good 1000 in a week on fucking rc and now i wish i had to to buy a standalone ecu and not the many rc cars and truck i have lol

Cspence 05-04-2009 10:07 PM

Geart indeed. Shitty ass pics though! I feel ya in on the weather, that 8 day forcast has me down.....at least it gives me some mandatory down time to work on my handful of projects.

1990miata1.6 05-04-2009 10:19 PM

lol ya i hear ya i need to go pull off a bunch of parts i sold

99mx5 05-04-2009 10:20 PM

Damn, I didn't think those Evo seats would fit so geart. There's many local Evos with swapped seats. I should inquire about them to see if I can find a set.

1990miata1.6 05-04-2009 10:23 PM

do it up im waiting for my friend to send me the pics from his good camera

chance91 05-25-2009 11:40 PM

I vote they look geart as well! I gotta ask, what do you think about the seats on a whole, as far as driving? Good support, lateral and all? Comfy? Decent drop, same seating height, or higher? They look very sharp and subtle, yet a very nice look too.

matttheniceguy 05-26-2009 03:20 AM

I'm interested in the seating height as well. I want to get lower than stock, but generally need to recline as well to fit under the top so these might work well for me.

there a good seat support is good there comfy they sit higher and also do not go as far back as the stock seats. if you are taller then 6 foot i would not doo.

chance91 05-27-2009 09:42 PM

Super bummer they sit higher. How much would you say? Think there is a way to work with the home made bracketry to fix some of that? It's good to know they work out alright, just I sit at about 6 foot even, but I still need even the stock seats lower.

smash adams 05-27-2009 10:09 PM

looks geart, take some better pics though

1990miata1.6 05-27-2009 10:12 PM

your best bet is a fixed seat

Marc D 05-27-2009 10:49 PM

nice. Do you ahve pics of the bars you used on the stock sliders?

1990miata1.6 05-27-2009 11:09 PM

i will try to see if my friend who took the pic for me has any of the bars. the bars only go across from one slider to the next.

Marc D 05-27-2009 11:21 PM

cool. hows the recline on it, if any at all? Does it still slide freely, because it sure looks really cramped or the side bolster may prevent any movement of the seat.

1990miata1.6 05-28-2009 02:56 PM

the seat slides all the way up but because of my roll bar being welded to my seat belt loop it will not go all the way back. to recline the seat you have to go up then recline then slide back.
