Fire System Group Buy
OK, so NOPI is requiring these this season. The cheapest I found was $349 @ SafeRacer, but Firecharger www.firecharger.com has systems for $199. As always, they might give us a break if we have a big order. Would anyone be interested? It's a 5lb(2.3L) 2 nozzle system.
|
Nopi how fast would we have to go to need these 10's?
|
NOPI Drift.

As if the pink car going sideways in his sig doesn't give it off....;)

this is an interesting system, i'd be amazed that one little CO2 bulb could do an effective job at suppressing a fire. any idea if this meets the standards for any sanctioning bodies, or what it does to the harnesses/aluminum/plastic it hits? one of the advantages of Halon and its clones is the lack of collateral damage.

This is the $349 one at SafeRacer. The C02 cartridge looks the same as the FireCharger one to me. http://assets0.saferacer.com/images/P/2313_1_lg.gif Here's an install article from Grassroots http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/new...-saga-ep-1.php http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/new...-saga-ep-2.php |
I'd like one as well. Not required, but when it comes to safety equipment I usually try to aim higher than the requirement.

I am getting a fire system for the time attack car shortly as well.
however, I am getting Halon. The other stuff ruins anything it touches, and I don't want to have to rewire if some dummy accidentally sets off the system. |

None and it still costs a shit laod of money. Becouse they can't make it anymore damn CFC regs :vash: halon is some valitile shit guys, and if you put it in a street car you would be violating some major epa shit. I think you still need a license to even handle/install the shit.

I have a friend who may also want in on it @ $140 for his MR-2, I'll get back to you. |
OK, more group buy info. I contacted FireCharger again, they are willing to do a buy on the 10lb (4.6L) 3 nozzle system as well
10-20 Units: $233 20-plus Units: $195 Same Shipping Price |
also 2.3L system?
|
10lb (4.6L)

just looked it up... I'll probably stick with the smaller system for size reasons. I have no idea where I'll mount it since I use my trunk and my soft top. I might see if I can make it fit above the passenger's foot well somewhere.
|
I am in at 140
|
OK, another Fire Charger update. They will honor the group buy price for either system! 2 $140 or 3 nozzle $195, it doesn't matter! I have about 18 tentative people, and I'll post a list tonight. I plan on closing this group buy on Feb 15th.
Thanks! |
Going to contact my friend and see if he wants in. I'll let you know tonight.
Mark Mlow down as a maybe. He's got some equipment he needs to sell before he makes the final decision. But he's very interested. If he's got the cash he'll buy in. |
Arkmage, I need your email address and real name, and your buddy's too. You too loki047.

the job of the suppression system is to put the fire out, aka save you from injury or death. if there's a fire, who gives a rat's a about what happens to some plastic trim.

I’ve used FM-200 for about 5 systems they were all seal systems which requires much less per cubic feet (think Data Center application). I'm not certain how it works on something like an engine bay. It is non-toxic non-corrosive. |
Buddy is out... his other deal fell through so he's going to be broke. PM'ing you my info.
|
I'm down for one for sure, just need to decide between 2 or 3 nozzle system.
|
Name and email address please.
|
Tenatively in for a 3-nozzle system. If I decide to commit I will PM name and email.
|
Thanks!
