I drove around a good bit yesterday, about 100 miles of twisties, and came home smiling. I got the wild hair up my *** to install some 9006's in the turnsignals ("twilight" mod), so I did that, and waited till tark to see how well they worked. I left the house, and got a 1-3 second long squeal each time I fully engaged the clutch. The squeal would always go away after a second or two, or if I slightly disengaged the clutch. There was no slippage. There was no judder. I'm thinking maybe a pilot bearing, which I was upset about because I don't need a clutch, but I'm not going to open it up and not put a new clutch in.

Went out again this morning. I started gentle and there was no squeal. I pushed a little harder, and still nothing. Came home, let the car sit for an hour, and went out again, pushing harder. No squeal, no slippage, no problems.

I'm a firm believer of if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Based on this little bit of data, what do you guys think? Thanks

If it comes back, put a little grease on the ball end of the slave cylinder where it meets the release fork.

Do what Olderguy says and then see what happens. Sounds to me more like a pilot bearing ot throw-out bearing problem.

Thank you for the replies. I narrowed the squeal occurance to only night time. It must be a low temp thing.

Will let you know if the squeal comes back since spraying chain lube at the slave/release fork area.
