FM Hood Aero Testing v.gettowindtunnel.cfd
I bolted the hood to my daily and taped twine under the hood by the vents:
http://i49.tinypic.com/2d9bceu.jpg Then cut them so they were only 6" long at got this at 65mph: http://i49.tinypic.com/1t7o7o.jpg This is good, right? Its twine and not yarn...so its more dense and takes more velocity to move them, right? They whip around pretty hard at 70mph but I didn't feel like taking more photos. Unfortunately the hood is severely warped and I'm going to set bricks on the high-spots before it goes to paint. |
Where did you set the tape up on the hood hustler? On the underside? What would happen if you did the same on the top side near the front foil of the vent?
Basically you're telling me to tape them all over?
Basically... Yes. Haha! It will give a better idea of how the air is flowing when it approaches the vents and should show if there is a high pressure area or low pressure area around them.
"haha" me again and we're going to have serious issues. I will test again on the way to the gym tomorrow where I'll push more weight than you've collectively seen in your pathetic life.
Good luck with that when it rains. :vash:
