Front bumper cross member weld or resin
I damaged my front bumper cross member on my 97. Ive removed the damaged one by drilling out the spot welds. I have a new genuine Mazda replacement and it went into place no issues so I don’t think the frame was damaged by my abuse.
I’m debating on taking it to a body shop to get it spot welded in for a few hundred bucks $3-400 is my guess or to use one of the resin bonders like JB weld, 3m or something in a couple of the spots, clamp it together and add maybe a couple of small bolts and call it a day. Not the most elegant but I think it might work for what I want. suggestions? https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...0dbf7504d.jpeg |
Have it welded. Shouldn't cost as much as you think. JB weld is NOT a viable option.

Have it welded.

Ok, welded it is. Figured it was worth the ask since these epoxies are used in some high stress situations.
Thanks for the answers y’all!! |
Try finding a small weld shop rather than a body shop. Jobs like that will be an inconvenience to a body shop, but a quick buck for a small business or welder who does side work.
