Fuel pressure problem
I installed a walbro 190hp last night and just took it for a drive and my max psi is 80. I have the begi afpr installed, 1.8L NA injectors. I had the adjustment screw on the afpr at full rich and all I saw was 80 psi, I backed the screw out 2 turns and I still saw 80 psi, 2 more turns out and still 80 psi. Is it possible my afpr is no good? I did verify that it is installed correctly, the in line comes from the fuel rail and the out goes to the tank. Anyone have any ideas?

I went and readjusted the 0 vacuum fuel pressure and then clamped off the retun line and the guage only showed 90 psi. I think this means they didnt give me the HP model. What do you think?

yeah ou should be seeing 120psi or so.

I guess my next question is should I pull it and return it or should I just get bigger injectors so I can up my boost?

Pull it and check the part number first to see what you have.

So I guess Im SOL. I pulled the pump to verify the part# and yep they sold me the regular 190 pump. I gave them a call and of course I got the we "cant take used parts back" line. So if anyone has any 330's for sale please hit me up.

At 90psi, even on 330's, you're probably going to be limited to about 10psi... maybe 190whp. Might as well try and offload the current pump to somebody who's looking for an OEM replacement and probably get your money back.
How much boost are you running now on the 1.8's... I wouldn't chance more than about 8psi. My 190hp will be for sale and you're still first for dibs... but I've gotta have my MS first. It might be a few weeks, maybe a month. |
Im runnin the 7 psi off the wastegate. I guess 190 whp will be ok until I can scrape the money for engine management. Just let me know as soon as your hp is available.

you might also consider trading it with somebody that is upgrading to MS and doesn't have their stock pump anymore. Throw an add up here and at m.net about a trade.

If you ordered the HP. version and they mistakenly gave you the wrong part, IMO they SHOULD swap them out. If not, who did you purchase it from so I and others can avoid them?
Thats how I feel. They just told me that once its installed they wont take it back. Nipponpower.com I bought it from them because they are in Miami and I went to pick it . __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |

That really bothers me. THEY made the mistake of giving you the WRONG part, they never realize they gave you the wrong part, YOU inform them they sold you the wrong part, they realize THEIR mistake, but won't take it back. No worries, I'll never order anything from them. If it were me, I would raise HOLY HELL!

Lots of shops are stupid like that about the hp and non hp FP's. Yep after install they have a disclaimer on returns most likely looks like you are gonna eat this FP.
