does any body know where i can get a good quality low profile jack. At the moment i have to bench press the front of my car, with the tow hooks, to slide my jack under it. The real kicker is that i just put an even lower suspension setup on my car and i am not sure if i can get the jack under it without driving on a couple of boards first.

Northern Tool/Hydraulic....it measures like 3.5" at full decompression, about the lowest I've seen for 'normal' jacks and rated for like 2 tons? I've had it for about 6 months, great jack.

Doesn't HF have one with the 3" saddle height?

Harbor Freight. on sale often at like $80. low enough for my car when hub to fender was 11.625"

+1 for HF.
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=91039 Have it, use it and zero complaints. (But you could pimp-your-jack for $10 more... http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=96562) |
Thanks guys,
The harbor freight jack does look a lot better than the old craftsman that i have now. |
I've used one of the low-pro HF jacks before. Nice piece. Had no problems getting under my car at 11.75" front ride height.
|
my car is 11.5 11.75...so whatever I have works...lol
|
My old HF jack worked awesome for like 2 years... until it was stolen. Great jack though.

I bought a jack similar to that harbor freight one from Costco...it was $100...pretty nice for the price and costco warranty is pretty good, no shipping cost. Not sure how the clearance will work for you...haven't used the jack on my miata yet, but I can always get some boards to drive up on...

i bought the "aluminum and steel" silver and red jack from sears. It works.

Take out EVERY fastener in the entire jack (with exception of fill/drain plugs) and fucking loctite them. Practically everything has come loose and fallen off that jack. Other than that, I LOVE it. Four or five pumps to maximum saddle height, just have to be careful when lowering. |
I have the HF also. Works like a champ
