Get new seats or beat the trans. tunnel?
I picked up some Corbeau Forza II's (I believe they're the II's, they look like these: Corbeau: Forza ) but they don't fit in the car it seems. I'm debating getting other seats or just beating on the trans tunnel to make them fit. It seems that other people have got them to fit, but most used sliders. I'm bolting mine to the floor to get the headroom I need. Should I beat on the tunnel of my 94 R or just put them on craigslist and try and get narrower seats? The only reason I bought them was because they were $300 for the pair and they were only 2 months old.

beat the tranny tunnel i did the same.

or make custom mounts and shift the seat a little, my car is full out race, so im have a sparco circut pro, its deff should not fit, but we welded custom mounts to the floor, to sit the seat as low as possible and to make it fit

just beat it

I figured I'd get that response. It just seems that I would need quite a bit of room to get it to fit. I'd also need to do the same on the passenger side so I'll have to see how much room I have before getting too close the trans./driveshaft/PPF.

Beat it, that's what I did for my sparco pro2000's

I had to do the same thing. Actually, I reshaped the tranny tunnel and bent my Sparco brackets. EDIT: Honestly...to answer your question...I'd consider getting another seat IF you are DDing it. Unless the II is tons more comfortable you'll hate it. |
Not a DD, just a track/nice day car.
|
In that case you'll love it...
I had to stretch some of that material pretty thin while beating on it....but it's held up to about 8K miles. |
What seats did you put in? Everybody who says they've done this has much narrower seats and I'm worried I'll really have to abuse the tunnel to get them in there. Kind of the opposite scenario to a hot dog in a hallway.

Yeah that's an older Forza that they used for test fitting. Supposedly the Forza II is wider but I can't find any comparison between the two.
|
Mine's the original Forza. It's still a wide beast. I had the most hell getting the shoulders to clear the door card with the seat as far forward as I needed it. I tried 3 times before I got position, incline and angle (relative to longitudinal axis of car) all right.
|
I just don't want to beat the hell out of it and then have it not still fit. Call me a pussy, but I hate finding things out the hard way. I might take the cover off the seat and see if there's any way to make it a bit slimmer rather than beating on the car just yet.
|
FUCK. I just measured the seats and checked the dimensions online and I have the wide version. No wonder they don't fit at all. I didn't even think to measure them when I was buying them off the guy. Back to craigslist they go.

Where are you located? I may be interested.
