Going to enter a car in the 24 hours of LeMons race, need car.
WTB 87-93 5.0 5-Spd or Miata or anything else cheep For 24 hours of Lemons! What is it? Each LeMons race is for cars purchased, fixed up, and track-prepped for a total of 500 dollars or less. But before reaching the grid, you'll have to survive trials like the Personal-Injury-Lawyer Anti-Slalom, the Marxist-Valet Parking Challenge, and the Wide Open Throttle Rodthrowapalooza. Twelve hours into the race, the car voted People’s Choice is called in and awarded a cash prize; simultaneously, the car voted People’s Curse is called in and summarily destroyed. At the end of 24 hours, a gala awards ceremony plies the survivors with trophies, plaques, and four-figure purses in canvas bags full of nickels. What's not to like? The 24 Hours of LeMons What you got??? Need to be with in a few hundred miles of Virginia Beach. I'd like something running and driving but not well. No title, No problem! Rust is a Must! Wrecks are great! Needs no windows or lights! Help a brother out! Team: Me AJ RJ Curt Todd Charles Mike@icantdo55.com __________________ |

I'd consider selling my 90 for a LeMons friendly price. It already has a cage made for use with a hardtop (hardtop not included). The motor and interior are out of the car but pretty much intact, and the passenger fender and front bumper cover are currently removed as well (I have a better fender than the one in the pics that you can have with it). Pics are here: https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t18703/ Stock motor turned over but wouldn't stay running when I got it (it had been sitting for over a year, now over 3 since it has been driven). Includes a set of steelies and a set of daisies, and I have 3 spare doors (a red L & R, and a black R) that can be resold to recoup costs. I about 10 mins from downtown Louisville, KY, which may be outside your range.

That is the theory that i am going with as well. Good luck on your build and don't let the judges know that you have prior knowledge of miatas. A couple buddies of mine told me you couldn't find a miata that would work for the lemons race for less than 500, but i got mine for 250. Given it has a wiring harness that is pretty much useless and may take me until the race to actually rewire it. Document everything well and take plenty of pictures.
