Got half the suspension swapped

it was too cold and I was very unmotivated to finish the rear swap as well. So i got the front swapped at least, next weekend it's warmer ill tackle the rear, so it's gotta sit with the worst alignment in the world right now for a while until i get off my lazy ass and finish.

I needz your speedo cable! On the way home I realized mine read 10mph faster than I was going. Was wondering why all the old people were passing me, and why 65mph felt so damn slow.

I'm off next weekend (tentatively) so I can come over again. Then you can see what the motor feels like with a good tune too.

why would my speedo cable read any better? and yes i would much like to drive your car again...twas fun.

Braineak: Everyone knows the value of a properly calibrated speedo cable. and swapping the rear first would have been more gangasta. gotta love the nose-up lean

Braineack 02-24-2008 08:52 PM

yeah well i have to pull apart the diff and swap carriers, even so i figured the fronts would be the most involved so i just wanted to get it done. The rear should be as simple as, removing the brake lines and shock mounts the PPF and driveshaft then dropping the entire rear assembly in one :)

HA, we should have just unbolted the front and rear subframes and swapped bodies.

miatamania 02-24-2008 09:01 PM

Nice...send me a front PPF bolt... :)

rappadan 02-24-2008 09:01 PM

haha, well it was good to see more progress on the swap. and meeting a couple new faces!

And scott the latest map seems to work well!!

I like your idea of laying the blanket down. My garage floor is so chipped up, if I drop a bolt or nut, it can be very difficult to find. The blanket will help with that.

Sure am looking for spring so I can begin my work. Today was our first day above freezing in months.

probably wouldn't have been a bad idea...no idea how heavy it would be though, so this works :)

neogenesis2004 02-24-2008 09:12 PM

I've heard it can be lifted by like 3-4 people pretty easily.

Braineack 02-24-2008 09:15 PM

well shit. that would have saved a lot of trouble :)

miataz 02-24-2008 11:36 PM

are you parting out any interior parts from your old car, i busted my dash lol, the part above the odometer gauges, i didnt know there were screws yanked it out snapped...

driftbandito 02-24-2008 11:47 PM

You should have just swapped over one side of the suspension so you can be tippin big baller status and cold weather sucks
