So I'm cleaning out my garage this morning when I hear a turbo car coming down my street(not normal). 30 seconds later I see a Mazdaspeed Miata pulling in my driveway. I guess this guy buys and sells cars from auctions and saw that I had a Miata in the driveway that "wasn't stock". So he gets to asking me some ?'s about it and asks me if I can fix it. Looks like it had a TPS sensor code and 02 sensor code. I look under the hood and as far as I can tell it looks like the Flyin Miata intake kit and intercooler. I figure, I'll tell him to buy a TPS sensor if the code comes back, but had a ? about the o2 code. It looks like that intake kit comes with an 02 modifier. Anybody have any suggestions what to look for with this. Oh and the 02 code I got was the rear one. This thing didnt look like it had a muffler on it and was really loud. Here's some pics. I'd love to have this car.

For the TPS, check to make sure there are no intake leaks.
As for the o2, if the exhaust has been replaced, make sure there is a cat under there or that the o2 is even hooked up. Given this guy probably had no clue what he was driving around, the possibilities are endless.

There's some kind of "TPS mod" the MSM guys do, if you unplug it the ecu will dump more fuel and allow you to run a little more boost. It's got a FM downpipe w/ a gutted cat, so that explains the O2 code. I'll let James (previous owner) know about the tread and I'm sure he'd be happy to answer any questions about the car.

Oh wow, I never expected to see my old car on here lol. Apparently the tech's at the dealership are idiots and never gave the engine a once over, there is a sensor in the throttle body that is simply unplugged(scott I removed the TPS mod when I traded it in), just above the silver pipe in picture #2. The owner should be aware that it is having(or was when I traded it in) clutch problems and he may need to swap that in the near future. When I traded it in I turned the boost down to wastegate boost so it is likely only pushing around 6psi, I used to run just under 13. If the owner is interested I have some green top injectors for sale that I just never got around to installing so he can safely run even more boost.

Yeah that's kinda crazy. I think it was actually wholesaled and he's gonna turn around and sell it. He said something about quieting it down. What is the car worth? I might make him an offer and say it'll be kinda expensive to fix. I actually drove it down the street after I cleared the check engine light for him. How big are the green tops? Would they work on my 1.6 greddy at 12-14 psi? If so I might take them off your hands. I might try and sell my car to get my hands on this one. Any input?

They are 305cc green top supra injectors and as far as I know plug and play for all miatas, part #23250-70080 and a perfect upgrade for that boost level.

I traded it for 13k and it was really only worth about 10.5-11k on trade so i'm afraid your friend may have invested a little too much in it, unless the dealer realized the got screwed and decided to cut their losses. The car is a blast to drive, the suspension is a pretty good upgrade from a stock miata even just as it sits and has more potential. The car has a TON of potential and as I said before it is probably boosting below stock levels and once you open her it she'll roll out pretty good.

Those would be adequate for a bandaid setup at that boost if you've got a fuel pump that will put out 100+psi... and the stock Vortech FMU does not have the fidelity to get any sort of acceptable fuel AFR curve at those pressures... need Begi 2025 AFPR... and o2 clamp... and Bipes.

Or stop messing around and have Brain build you a Megasquirt and grab some used 460's for $50 and be done with it.

I'm for sure gonna go with a MS from Brain. Just gotta save some money first. Do the 460's come in the Rx7's? I'm gonna start collecting parts really soon. So far I know I need, injectors, MS, WB 02, and what is the 02 clamp all about? Do I need one with MS? Sorry for all the ness
