Default Quick Question about Looping the Lines Depower

Looping the lines for now to route some intercooler piping.

Do I drain ALL the PS Fluid out of the Rack? Or leave it in?

I would think leaving it in would help lubricate all the moving components, and it probably won't affect the steering efforts too much, since much of the force is from tire/ground contact. I jacked up the front of the car, and was able to turn the steering wheel pretty easily with the PS system in.

Meh, when i de-powered my 96, i just cut the lines and let the excess fluid drain. I didn't even loop them together... i just let the kinda hang down and never had a problem.

You want to get as much fluid as you can out. Otherwise you will be pushing fluid through seals and that will make turning harder.

yep. slice'em, let'em drain while you do soemthing else. twist the wheel back and forth a bunch to push any more fluid out that you can, and then loop'em with a bit of tubing, mostly just to keep crud out.
