Hard top with style bars?

Will a hardtop fit on an 1990 miata with style bars?

cjernigan 03-18-2008 10:59 PM

Yes, all the ones i have see don't have any issues.

Trent 03-18-2008 11:06 PM

yep. you shouldn't have any issues.

paul 03-18-2008 11:11 PM

DO NOT believe either of the previous posters. Style bars will not fit with a hardtop. Remove said style bar and throw out.

miataz 03-18-2008 11:11 PM

For sure, there not that big as a roll bar its just a little bar doesn't have a backing on it or anything and its alot shorter then a roll...still have to install mine;)
EDIT: roll bar is to expensive for me:D and i would want a polished one which is even more expensive :hustler:

wes65 03-18-2008 11:18 PM

I would ask the manufacturer of the style bar before purchasing.

You forgot "And buy a real roll-bar." ;)

paul 03-18-2008 11:41 PM

-and buy a real fucking rollbar.

but make sure you get one compatible with a hardtop

Zabac 03-19-2008 09:17 AM

why do people insist to make their cars less safe in case of a roll over?
style bar=deather trap
no bar=you may survive
roll bar=people wonder how you walked away from that one...ask paul

any questions?

hustler 03-19-2008 04:53 PM

if the style bar interferes, you can just bend it out of the way.

Braineack 03-19-2008 04:58 PM

or ask markp

That's funny.....

Never ceases to amaze me how this forum puts threads through the ass wipe. Ask a simple question...be prepared to get reamed. I wonder how many miata roll overs were due to individuals not knowing the limitations of their vehicles?
Thank you all for your responses.

paul 03-19-2008 06:49 PM

well i for one was well aware of the limitations of mine and that is why i swerved to miss the fucking dear. yes i flipped the car after going off the road but i walked away without even a scratch. actually i drove away, after flipping the car back over with some help. had i hit the dear i am not so sure i could say that.

As another noob here I would say these guys are trying to help you in their usual loving manner. The style bar has a reputation for being useless as protection if that is your intent. You are better off getting a roll bar. I am planning on doing the same. As mentioned, be sure you get one that is hard top compatible. Some are not.
