Having trouble with a 3 gauge DIN panel.
 

So I'm attempting to install oil temp, water temp, and oil pressure in a 3 gauge DIN panel above my radio. The PO had installed a goofy aftermarket radio/cubby pannel, so I took that out and put the radio just above the HVAC controls, no problems there. But for the hole that I'm trying to install a gauge panel in, it looks like they had trimmed a bit too much from around the slot so I can't snap in my Thompson DIN gauge panel.

I've looked into the !nJoy Carlife Mazda Miata Radio Blanking Plates 1999-2005, but it appears they don't exist anymore, GO MIATA shows them on their site but they don't have any in stock. I've also tried to contact roadstertech for their NB Miata Gauge Plates, but I've got nothing back from them and their facebook page has been pretty inactive for a few years.

Ideally, I need something like the roadstertech plate because it has little ears that stick out to hold on to the surround. I'm sure I could find a piece of plastic and trim it up and stuff it in there, but I don't think I'll be able to make it look decent and flush because all of the aftermarket gauge panels have a bit of depth to them to bring the panel face flush with the radio and bezel. Does anybody have any suggestions or other panels that would work in my case?

Stopped at a local stereo shop and got a piece of ABS plastic, figured I'd at least attempt to make something custom.

The plastic was perforated on the back so it was actually pretty easy to make the general shape by cutting with a razorblade and then snapping the plastic for a nice clean line. Used the DIN panel I bought for a template to mark the holes, then drilled a big hole in the middle. Used a little bow saw and made the rough circle cut, dremeled and test fitted a gauge till it slipped thru snug, then filed the edges smooth.

It was getting kinda flimsy on the bottom section so I cut a few strips of the plastic and superglued them overnight to the back side. Test fitted this morning and it's actually pretty solid. Will need to do just a little fine trimming but it looks like this will actually work pretty decent.
