Miata engine dying
This is Joe Perez's old Miata. His MS3pro and tune ran perfectly for an entire year. Everything else is stock otherwise.
I started it after sitting for 1 year. It was sideswiped. Only thing that was changed was subframe, U/L control arms, LF tie rod, and new battery.
I was driving over large hills (being in San Francisco) to get an alignment and whenever I went over a large hill, my UEGO would go straight to 10, lose power, and the Miata would die.
It would have a VERY hard time starting after dying - cranking and cranking and cranking. The only way it would finally start is by holding gas at WOT. Even after started (hovering around 100rpm), I would continue holding it at WOT, and it would not rev at all (it would stay at afr 10). After 1 minute of holding it at WOT, it finally reved until I let go and it went to stable idle.
If I did not hold it at WOT when cranking, it would not start (partial gas would not work). Plugs smelled like gas and so did the oil. I probably flooded it while getting it to start.
Any ideas what is causing it to die and why it's having such a hard time starting? CAS? FP?
