Help me with LC1 Wideband install plzzz
I'm reading all kinds of conflicting information and I'm a wiring noob and totally confused. All I am trying to do is wire it up to get the readings.
One problem, I'm missing the "switch" for calibration. Any chance my problems are because I have yet to calibrate? Can I rig a switch? Problem: The numbers just bounces all over the place from 22 then goes to 7.x then blinks, then goes everywhere, then back to 7 and blinks. Sometimes it seems like it just stays at 15.x. When I first power it up, it does climb slowly up to 14, then soon after it goes wild again. This is how I have it wired up Black/purple from gauge, blue/white from sensor, all connected to one ground. Blue signal wire from gauge connected to brow signal wire from sensor Red power from gauge and sensor, connected together to one wire, then wired to cigarette power. |
Scouts honor, I'll put together a picture how too if I can just figure this out.

Did you buy the unit used? Sensors usually bounce all over the place when they are bad.

All I needed was calibration!
I'll make a picture guide when I plug in the MSP where I'll also clean up the wires/connections. :D BTW, I connected both power and ground wires to the cigarette plug.. Is that okay? Temporary placement https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1426474541 |
To get a cleaner signal it is recommended to power it with a relay from the fusebox or battery. And ground it to a signal ground. I used the ECU ground. If you have any issues with it turning on on startup powering it with a relay will fix that. It errors out if it doesn't have a full 12v during the warmup sequence.

I use solder heat shrink crimp connectors and they work great.
