Help with a strange sound

My main relay......I think.....ticks alot when I first start the car. Almost sounds like the turn signal is on. It normally stops after car warms up, but sometimes never makes a sound at all. Has anyone else had this problem?

check the main ground wire on the engine block.

The ground looks to be good. I will check all the others tommorow. Is this a sign that the relay is going bad? The car has about 150,000 on what I believe to me mostly original parts. Is this something I should think about replacing. This is my first Mazda :noob:, or anything else thats not a honda so I have not learned all the usual Mazda quirks yet.

Honda's are bad about that 68 dollar relay getting wet and being ruined. This ain't no honda.

But I dunno you give a vague description. If it's the main relay, you can hold it in your hand and feel it clicking. I somehow doubt this is your problem relay though, if a relay is the problem at all.

An aftermarket alarm system that hasn't been completely disconnected can give off a ticking sound for the first few minutes.
