Hey guys i gotta question?

What is the stiffest pp i can get on my 1.6 clutch it is a good puck style clutch but the suplied pp was to weak for my liking and caused a little glazing on one side of the disk. so for say 200-300 dollars what can i get that is realy stiff. i dont mind a stiff clutch heck i enjoy driving manual non hydraulic clutches i just want the best grip i can get. for the money. thanks in advance guys.

I promise not to whore up the thread and listen, asking Q's only when neccessary.

Is your current setup slipping now? What disc are you running now?

Get the ACT X-Treme PP.

Clutchnet can make you a double spring PP and it will lock up like an on/off switch. I had one on my ITA Miata and it was absolutely awesome for quick shifts. Though it has very high pedal pressure for a Miata. It had such good lock up that the car would chirp 3rd gear - with only 110rwhp.

My current setup was slipping when i did 3K+ clutch dropps along with the wheel hop and fear of braking my vicous lsd. i could deal with the wheel hop with abit more driving ability but the slipage sucked. this was only evident once i hit 12+ psi so the ebay clutch pp is real good for moderate boosted cars but not for hard driven high hp cars.

i like this whats the cost and or lead time if it has to be custom made.

It doesn't have to be clutchnet. Any clutch builder can make one. You might see if you've got a local builder that can do this for you. I'd call around and throw the idea out until you find one that's interested. Tho they might want your current clutch/pp/flywheel (isn't your car apart now?). I mentioned clutchnet because they built one for a tuner mag that put a BP or B6 in a fiesta.

here's a pic of one they built for a honda
and the project page

I have no one for custom work local. Yeah it is in peices before me now but soon it will be back right.

Well, the one I had came from Brainstorm after they moved out to Cali- but rumor had it that clutchnet was the one building their clutches. It was a direct swap for the centerforce pp I had in the car. And I just a mazda OE disc. Report back with a price- I 'm curious.

it will beat the shit out of the drivetrain (i'm a pussy) and you probably mean solid center, rather than "puck" right?

m2cupcar 01-02-2007 06:39 PM

there's "puck" clutches that are both sprung and solid- I think puck is just a loose reference to anything that doesn't have a contiguous friction surface similar to the OE disc.

If the friction material really is glazed, you need to find out if there's anything you can do to freshen the surface, or it'll probably get worse and only encourage more slipping.

ohh im gonna rough it up ive done the same with breack pads it is a puck clutch disc, the supplied pp was just to weak for my likeing
