Rdb138, with reference to your points 2 and 3 above;
2) I also think the gas lifts aren’t an issue. I’ve got the similar FM gas lifts on my NB1 and don’t have any issues, even at 145 mph on Phillip island front straight . 3) if not planning to do rear aero which you’ve mentioned you aren’t yet, then I also would cut the lip off flush. While you will give up some downforce, it does upset the balance of the car enough to make a noticeable difference to handling. As an example, I run a 4” splitter and large rear wing, and at one event I removed the rear wing to see the effect. The car became almost undrivable, with copious amounts of oversteer on every high speed corner, not fun ( or fast). |
Real quick...wanted to let everyone know what I ended up doing and that it worked incase someone else has this issue later in life and reads this thread.
I made the following changes. 1. Made a plastic under - tray that went back to the axle. 2. Taped up the fog light holes with gaff tape (and the holes in the front lip too.) 3. Added 1/4 Rake to the back of the car This solved the hood lift problem with the car going 10-15 mph faster than when I was seeing the lift before. Thank you all very much for your help! Much appreciated! |
Good result. Thanks for the feedback :bigtu:
