My stock bushings are like brand-new, but I have the mmr delrin diff mounts. However, i don't want to deal with everything in the car shaking.


I have the engine mounts too, but I think that might be a bad move.

with both it will create some pretty rediclius vibrations. For me its worth it. The instantious feel of the throttle is awesome. No wasted energy. Go with it For the benefits its worth it.

Funny, I did not notice excess vibrations with the mmr engine mounts... my engine is balanced though, so maby that makes a difference.

Don't forget that part of the diff bushings purpose is to transition power load to the rear from the drive (propellor) shaft. Remove the bushings and that nice crisp feeling is also a sign that gears (and rest of the driveline) are taking a bigger beating. It's no different that using an unsprung hub clutch disk with cerametallic pucks - it's no longer the "weak" link in the drive line.

I agree that it's definitely preventing power loss - but outside of competition, is it worth price?

Buddy of mine, who is roommates with the guy that makes the MMR mounts said he just got the motor mounts. He also said it was the biggest mistake ever because at idle the car shakes so bad with them he can't stand it. He also said that the part of the roof that is bonded, the frame to the top sheet, has broken loose because of all the vibration.
So if a hardcore drift fanatic hates them I'm sure you will as well.

i notice lots of people going about the stiffer urethane mounts, but thwats the problem with the mazdaspeed ones? i wouldnt mind paying too much of a premium if they are better in terms of stiffness and still can maintain a quiet driving level, as comparable to installing the mazdaspeed motor mounts too.

Do you drive the car on the street at all? It'll get old pretty quickly. The engine mounts may not be a difficult swap to just see what happens, but the diff mounts would be a pain. Try the engine mounts first to see if you can tolerate it, then go from there. If you're still running on OEM suspension bushings, then it may be a better idea to purchase the ES master kit, since you track the car.

It's been over a year since I installed the MS engine and diff mounts, but NVH is not an issue at all with them.

I would move to the diff mounts before I did the motor mounts. For me, wheel spin leads to a bit of hop. I'm pretty sure it's not a blown shock...though it may lead to one. I'm almost certain its because of worn mounts.

From what I've heard the Mazdaspeed mounts don't really provide enough benefit to be worth the cost. If your old mounts are torn and you are replacing them anyway, perhaps. But if you are buying to up grade...not much of an upgrade.

the diff came out of a car with 16k miles, so I left them in there and put shoe goo in them like the SM guys.

Where can I get the MS motor mounts cheap? I'll trade my mmr diff and engine mounts for the MS motor mounts...or maybe just new stockers.

miataroadster has the mazdacomp mounts.

i have the MMR mounts and the car "feels" great. but i wouldnt do it if the car is a daily, it does get old when just driving the car normal

...thats why i responded first. they are no joke, they create some crazy vibrations. it all depends on what you want to do with your car. you have to ask yourself. full race car feel? with all the added response of solid mounts or the just 1% better feel that the mazdaspeeds did for me. over my broken mounts.

Ive got the MMR diff mounts on my car, i do track it but that is not why i went with them. I went with them because they came brand new with my torsen, although i wouldnt want it an other way. I daily drive my 90 and i love the feel of it, savington can vouch for them not being as vibrant as people say, they are more noisy than vibrant.

Got mine from corksport when they were a little cheaper, but they're worth it 100% IMHO. Only slightly more vibration than stock worn out broken mounts..

I was considering installing the Mazda Competition Motor mounts and Differential mounts, time to replace all those 'little things' that have gotten old. They advertise a 40% improvment over stock.

So, will these ad much to vibrations in the overall? Considering that worn out motor mounts cause a lot of vibrations, what would really be the difference when getting rid of the old mounts and the vibrations they are probably causing vrs what new mounts that are slightly stiffer? At some point, even the new mounts should soften some, or am I in the wrong frame of thinking with the newer materials being used these days?
