Horrendous oil consumption - WRX TD04L turbo

Been turbo'ed for about 750 miles now. Its consumed 1.5 quarts of oil in this time. When I was NA I hardly put in a quart every oil change. This happens every time I coast and pull up at a stop light after a boosted run. Never happens IN boost, although I could be wrong.

Did a compression test, it came out 180/181/180/181.

I am running a one-way valve in between the PCV and intake manifold. The other vent on the cam cover is plumbed to pre-compressor intake pipe. The weird thing, as soon as I got the valve, I (thought I???) stopped smelling burnt oil for a while, but now its the same story.

The WRX TD04 that I am running comes with a restrictor that's 0.065" (I think). I am running -3AN lines with banjo bolts at both ends of the line. The turbo was basically brand new, no shaft play at all, axially or radially.

The return line is not kinked or bent, its a 5/8" rubber line running off of the stock drain fitting on the turbo into a 45 degree fitting on the pan.

What can I do?

Strange, I haven't noticed any real oil consumption with my setup, other than the new oil leaks due to running synthetic oil on my 155k mile engine. I'm running a -4AN line on mine with a small pop-rivet as the restrictor. Have you looked at the exhaust turbine to see if its oil coked?

do you have a pic or know the size of the pop rivet? Where on the turbine should I look?

If you are over-oiling the turbo, then you should notice distinct seepage at the mating surface of the CHRA and turbine housing. If oil isn't forcing it's way out of there, then it's probably not burning due to oil forcing it's way past the turbine seal.

If your compressor seal is shot, then you may be shitting oil directly into the intake tract with no other outward signs. If that's the case, the bottom of your IC should be a lake.

What Samnavy said. Take off your post compressor pipes and take a look at them.

I take it by this sentence "This happens every time I coast and pull up at a stop light after a boosted run." That you see oil coming out the exhaust?

Yes, there is a smoke screen I can see behind me when I slow down after a boosted run.

I'll check the hotside piping and the chra.
