I've seen much worse. the pulley itself might not be true anymore.

Video isn't playing for me, can you use youtube or photobucket next time? All your info is here ---> Long Nose Crank Pulley Repair / Replacement

Edit: Video finally worked, I too have seen worse but you still need to get in there and inspect the crank nose. I wouldn't mess with those ebay crank pulleys because they aren't dampened. Just get a stock one from finishline.

Fix it or it'll look like this.

Best case, you need a keyway, some special Loctite, and a new crank bolt - and I wouldn't drive it again until you have it fixed. Worst case, you need a new motor.

if its like mine, you are on borrowed time. I saw it, and did not think much of it, and ended up with a trashed crank.

i cant buy anything from finishline because in Latvia we cant get confirmed shipping address (banana country :bowrofl:)
so i think i will try to risk and buy this one

Yeah same here, by the time i noticed it, replaced the key way and crank bolt, it only held together for about a month. I hope it works out for you.

I just went ahead and swapped in the 1.8 long nose.

hmm
today i talked to my guy who repairs my engine and he said that original pulley comes with rubber mount (bushing ?) and if i put on those who sells on ebay there will be big engine vibration and possibility to get broken engine
is that true ? (if that matters i have 1.8 engine)

Braineack 08-19-2009 08:56 AM

don't buy an underdrive pulley.

stock pully is 108 bucks and the backer plate if the bolt holes are fucked is about 20 bucks. Speaking as someone who has had a crank pully come off while driveing do to a failed bolt, on the holding assembly it is not fun. Do the shit right man and check your keyway etc for damage.

Sam Amporful 08-19-2009 01:23 PM

Its bad enough for me to have had to replace two engines to it. If its as easy for you to pull 1.6s as it is for me, then it'll be just as simple to buy one of the 1.6s made in 92' or 93' with the stronger crankshaft nose or to just swap to the 1.8. Sometimes doing the quickfix doesnt always fix it for good.

magnamx-5 08-19-2009 01:53 PM

92 is the year of change over although alot of the late production 91's have the long nose crank as well fwiw.
