Default Bad Afm????

What are the symptoms of a bad AFM?

The car runs fine at idle, or slight gas it cuts out some. But with mod to full throttle, it just bogs.
Acts like a clogged cat. But I think it was rodded through.

If the throttle body was leaking, could it cause this?
I'll look more into it monday. What do you think is wronge?

This is a stock na 1.6.

I can't hear any vac leaks.
But good thought, I'll check that.

Default HELP! Same issue...

Idles fine, slow in 1st, bogs down BAD in first.

EGR has been removed. New plugs/wires. My thoughts are around the AFM. Since my symptoms are the same as the original post I wonder what the problem was finally diagnosed as!

This is a 2 year old thread.

Google and try searching here and miata.net for info.

EDIT: check the coil pack too.

Yeah, we might have burned him at the stake for making a new thread without searching. Kudos to him for searching, but...

Unfortunately with a two year old thread you're probably not going to get much help from the OP, he's either gone, bought a MS, or forgotten what he did to fix it.

Try swapping it with a known good one, hopefully you have a fellow miata friend local to you.

old thread but help the new guy. Yes, try to borrow an AFM locally to see if that is is. I had a bad one and it had the same symptoms. replaced with a known good one and it cleared up the problem.
good luck
