Hydra help today

I know there is a forum for this but I am trying to get the car back up today. tomorrow I will just call FM.

I need to adjust the voltage that the alternator is putting out. At idle I get 15.5 and at 4000 I am getting almost 17. My problem is that there is two settings on the Hydra. Input follower P-term and I-term. The manual dosent explain which direction the adjustment should go to raise or lower the voltage.

I first noticed this when I installed the LED tach. It has a battery voltage feature that warns of over voltage and it did; but because I have not made any adjustments since I installed my turbo kit I assume that the voltage has been this high since the install. Now this week I blew my 20A fuse for my A/C relay. I checked the system and cant find any shorts so my thought is the vigh voltage and high load is causing the fuse to blow.

Ok, well apparently my reading sucks because the steps to adjust this were in the installation instructions. So got it adjusted but still blowing the fuse, traced it to the A/C clutch. As soon as it cools where I can get my hands down there I will inspect the wire and see what is up.

Thanks anyway.

Get a 90-97 alternator and call it good.

yeah your best bet so you dont have to dick with any of that shit is to swap to an NA alternator. I have a write up I did on here when I did it

Thanks, I did find the adjustment and played with it some. Got the voltage down to 14.5 but I need to play with it some more because now the lights flicker. I saw the write ups about using a older alternator but it isn't worth changing a perfectly good alternator because I dont want to tune it.
